On March 16th, Mr. Chen Defang, President of NORINCO, met with João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

Mr. Chen welcomed President Lourenço's return to Beijing after a five-year interval and expressed his gratitude for the continuous trust and support that President Lourenço had bestowed upon NORINCO. He emphasized that the Joint Statement signed between China and Angola concerning the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership holds profound significance for mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win outcomes for both nations. As an old friend with over three decades of deep-rooted friendship with Angola, NORINCO views this new juncture as an opportunity to embark on a fresh start, seeking to further deepen and expand multi-sectorial cooperation, thereby contributing to Angola's national defense security and socioeconomic development.

President Lourenço remarked that NORINCO's robust capabilities and commendable work ethics have left a lasting impression during past collaborations. He highlighted that NORINCO is a long-term partner of various departments within the Angolan government and expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to join forces in advancing pragmatic cooperation, aiming to achieve more fruitful partnerships in sectors such as defense industry and national economy.
