On March 12, Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, came to Lahore to investigate the Orange Line project, together with his delegation.

After visiting the parking train examination shop, Nong Rong listened to the report of the joint venture composed of NORINCO International, Guangzhou Metro and DW Company about the “local-oriented strategy” in the employment and training of new employees. Then he boarded the train to have a cordial talk with Pakistani frontline workers and watched their operations. Later, he left for the command control center of the project to listen to the head of the joint venture to know about the status of operation, epidemic prevention and control and security at the project site and unveiled the nameplate for the project’s capacity exceeding 10 million.

Nong Rong spoke highly of the joint venture for its flexible response to adverse impacts such as more severe effect of the epidemic in Pakistan, lack of Chinese personnel and shortage of preparation time, and for its work of putting the project into operation and achieving the goal of carrying more than 10 million passengers safely. He pointed out that it reflected the spirit of self-reliance, hard work, pioneering and selfless dedication, and encouraged the joint venture to further improve its political stance and make progress in all work on the premise of ensuring epidemic prevention and security, thus boosting the China-Pakistan friendship in the new era.
